José Luis Gayà is back at the Ciudad Deportiva after a successful fortnight of international action, in which he helped Spain qualify for the Final Four of the UEFA Nations League. The Valencia CF player represented his country in the 6-0 win against Germany and made a vital contribution in a magnificent performance for 'La Roja.'
A regular under coach Luis Enrique, Gayà has played 12 times for Spain since his debut in 2019 -and they have never lost with him in the side, with results of 9 wins and 3 draws.
Gayà was a doubt for the match on Tuesday after receiving a knock, but played through the pain and made his presence felt, providing an assist along the way. He has participated in five goals in his last eight games for Spain, scoring twice and setting up his teammates three times.
Now his focus turns to domestic action, and Valencia CF's game against Deportivo Alavés this weekend in LaLiga. The fullback will attempt to have the same effect as he did earlier this week, and lead the team to a second win in a row.
